I've heard a lot of great things about Tallinn, so when we planned this trip at the beginning of the year I was very excited! It's an incredible city, especially the old town, which makes you feel like you're walking through history. For some more information on the best things to do in Tallinn as well as where you can find some unique restaurants and cafes, check out my blog post which covers all that and more.
We stayed in Tallinn for 4 nights in total, and found that it was more than enough to explore the city thoroughly. The Ibis Tallinn Center hotel was the perfect hotel to stay at. It's located a very short drive from the airport, and is only a 20 minute walk to the old town. You pass by some other nice areas of the city as well on your walk there. It was only opened in June (2019), so you can rest easy knowing that all of the amenities are practically brand new. It's also in a good location to get to other attractions that are outside of the old town, such as the Tallinn TV Tower and Kadriorg Palace. Uber fares are very cheap here as well, and we used them a few times to get back to the hotel from further away places in the city. Check out some of my photos from our stay below:

This was a welcoming sight after a very loud flight. As I mentioned earlier, the hotel is situated relatively close to both the airport and the city centre. We hopped in an Uber from Tallinn airport and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we arrived. Not only that, but the fare was extremely cheap.
The hotel lobby is very modern and stylish. There's a bar that's open around the clock, and a pretty cherry blossom tree to add a bit extra to the decor. Being one of the newer hotels in Tallinn means it's quite busy around the clock, so make sure you check their availability well in advance.
There's also a very relaxing seating area just off of the lobby with a fun swinging chair to try out and a television. The hotel had lots of guidebooks and maps for you to take free of charge, so if you're on the prowl for a map of Tallinn's old town you don't need to wander far.
Who doesn't love a brand new room? It comes complete with a television, hairdryer, air conditioning, and a few hangers for your clothes. All of the amenities you could possibly need can be found inside the hotel room. If you require anything extra the hotel reception is more than happy to help out, even if you need some salt to go over a blister from all the walking you're going to be doing exploring Tallinn.
The bathroom was amazing, and spotless too. There's a glass shower in the corner, with shampoo and body wash included, which is ideal if you're trying to save space in your luggage for that all important Estonian souvenir.
This was a very, very comfortable bed. It probably helped that the hotel had only been open a few weeks. There are normal plugs and USB charging points above the bed as well. I always have a tendency to forget my adapter while travelling, so the USB charging points were a great addition to the room.
Breakfast time! The breakfast area was very sleek and modern which I loved. There's also the option to sit outside which is lovely during the warmer months.
There are a lot of great options for breakfast. There is everything from fresh fruit, to meat and cheese platters, to various hot food selections. If I haven't convinced you that this is the best place to stay in Tallinn yet, just wait.
Pastries! When else can you indulge a little at breakfast than when you're travelling? And the ibis Tallinn Center hotel has a lot of pastries to choose from.
The best thing about getting breakfast at your hotel is the fact that you can load up as much as you want, and even take some things to go. It's a great way to save money and it also saves time in the morning since you aren't having to search for the best places to have breakfast. It's a win-win situation really.
So if you're wondering where to stay in Tallinn, wonder no more! Not only is ibis Tallinn Center hotel ideally located within walking distance of the old town, it's also very new and modern with amenities that you won't find in other hotels around the city. I have stayed at a number of Accor Group hotels during my travels, such as in Manchester, and have never had a bad thing to say about them. You'll find it difficult to come across another budget friendly hotel in Tallinn that feels like a boutique one.

Thinking of taking a day trip from Tallinn? I'd recommend hopping on the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki, which is just over 2 hours. If you're on Instagram, feel free to follow me and get in touch!
