Scotland is such a beautiful country, rich in history and stunning landscapes. It would be hard not to miss it. I lived there for five years and am still having withdrawals from when I left last August. A couple of weeks ago I stumbled across WeeBox and became very excited. The concept is simple. It's a monthly subscription box, that sends you all the things you miss about Scotland. The theme changes each month, so the excitement and suspense is always there! The best thing is, no matter where you are in the world, they bring Scotland right to your door! This month they are celebrating the 150th year since the birth of Charles Rennie Mackintosh - Scotland's famous designer. If you're in Glasgow, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery currently has an incredible exhibition on him which I was fortunate enough to see. So, what exactly was in the box?
The box came complete with: a Mackintosh print, Brodies Scottish Afternoon Tea (rumoured to have been introduced to England by Queen Victoria during her stay at Balmoral), a book on Mackintosh, the famous Mackintosh rose displayed on a wee tray, tea tidy and china tea cup, a rose badge in support of the "Mackintosh Rose Appeal", and SHORTBREAD! Yes, I love shortbread. Maybe a bit too much but hey, I need some indulgences.
For those of you who love Outlander (I mean who doesn't), the July box may or may not be an Outlander theme ... Check out Weebox here
