Hotel airports are usually used if you have an early morning or late arriving flight. We had neither, but chose to stay in the airport area anyways, so we could easily get to the Blue Lagoon the next morning, which was only a 15 minute drive from B&B Hotel Keflavik Airport. It turned out to be a very good decision because not only was the hotel amazing, we could also get some well needed rest and not have to wake up very early the following day. Make sure you book the breakfast, because it will save you time either at the airport or while you're on the road. It's also a fantastic breakfast with a great selection. The hotel is a very short drive from the airport, less than 10 minutes, but you don't get the noise of the planes disturbing your sleep. There are lots of hotels near Iceland's airport to choose from, but this one was by far the best value for money, in terms of the room itself and location. A little added bonus is that there is a restaurant next to the hotel, serving some delicious pizza (Langbest Pizzera Steakhouse)! So if you're looking to rest your weary traveler's head, this is a great airport hotel to stay at. Here are some of my photos from our one night stay:

Breakfast

Breakfast starts at 4am, which is great if you have an early morning flight or are waking up early to start exploring like we were. The selection was perfect. I mean, who doesn't love a few waffles in the morning? Best of all, when we went down for breakfast no one else was there.

Double/twin room

We had booked the double/twin room for the night. I slept like a baby in this bed - it was so comfortable. There are separate duvets too if you're sharing so no one steals the covers from you. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel for you to use, and it has a pretty good signal as well.

Desk and television

I loved having this big television in the room, and it had English channels too which was nice. Although most of them were news channels, so we ended up watching Netflix on my laptop instead.

Bathroom

Spotless bathrooms are my favourite, and this one was perfect. There's a hairdryer too, which is good if you're like me and never travel with one. Shampoo and body wash was also provided in the shower.

Next to the reception is the bar area, which was quite busy in the evening and had a great atmosphere. I was surprised at how busy it got to be honest. There's a screen with flight information on it as well which comes in handy, so you can see the status of your flight before heading to the airport. They also provide airport shuttle services if you require that.

I very rarely choose to stay at airport hotels if I can help it, but B&B Hotel Keflavik Airport was an ideal choice for us due to its proximity to the Blue Lagoon. It's a great hotel to stay at, especially if you're visiting Iceland on a budget.
