I think by now everyone knows how much I love staying in apartments while travelling. Having the option of cooking your own meals, and relaxing in the living room with the TV on in the evening, makes it feel like a home away from home while you're on the road. During my visit to the historic city of Chester, I stayed at Base Serviced Apartments, and couldn't have asked for a better location!

It's situated more or less in between the train station and the main shopping street (on City Road), and is easy to locate. If you arrive after the office closes (which I did), it's very easy to ring the head office and get the code to enter the apartment and obtain your key. The apartment itself is very modern, and has everything you could ever need. Is it sad that I was probably most excited about the free biscuits? I don't think so. Whether you're visiting Chester for business, or exploring its historic streets, these apartments are a great value and I'll definitely return when I'm next in Chester. Here are some photos of the apartment:

Double bedroom with folded towels in Base Serviced Apartments Chester, England
Double bedroom

We stayed in the One Bedroom Apartment with Sofa Bed for one night. We didn't need to use the sofa bed, but the double bed was incredibly comfortable. The bedroom itself felt very cozy, and it came fully equipped with an ironing board, loads of space to hang your clothes, and a TV.

The bathroom was amazing, and came with little soaps as well. The toilet was in a separate space, which is great if you're travelling with someone else because then you each have your own mirror and sink. There are a lot of things to do in Chester, so saving that little bit of time may help you in the long run.

Living room

I loved the living room area. The couch was incredibly comfortable and there is a big TV on the wall as well. If you need the extra space, the couch pulls out into a sofa bed.

As far as kitchens go, this one was perfect. Everything was immaculate, and there was even a selection of biscuits and drinks to choose from when we arrived.

If you're looking for places to stay in Chester, whether it's just for a night like us or for longer, Base Serviced Apartments is a great choice. It's ideally located only a few minutes walk from the train station, and sits close to all of the main tourist attractions in Chester. What more do you need than a fully equipped kitchen, Egyptian cotton bedding, and high speed WiFi?
