A First Class Stay in Reykjavik with Hotel Klettur

Updated: Jun 10, 2019

Hotel Klettur is perfectly located only a 20 minute walk from Reykjavik's centre. It's a fairly straightforward and pleasant walk among the shops too, so there's no need to worry about getting lost! The famous cathedral is very close by as well, which makes the hotel itself a great spot to explore the city from. If you're looking at taking a coach tour, there is a pickup spot right outside the hotel which is ideal. Breakfast starts early in the morning, and there is plenty to choose from. I'd recommend having breakfast at the hotel rather than wandering around the city looking for somewhere to eat, it's much more budget friendly this way! The rooms themselves are simple but very comfortable and spotless. There's a television in the room, complete with English channels (woo!), a kettle to make some hot drinks after being in the cold all day, blackout curtains, and the heating works almost instantly which is great. I'd definitely stay here again if I come back to the city, I had zero issues with it and the staff were all very friendly and helpful! Check out some of my photos from my stay below!

Very comfy reception area. The whole hotel is designed in a similar, modern way which I loved.

There was a great selection at breakfast, and if you're looking for a drink in the evening, the bar is a good option too!

Simple but very comfortable. Yes the curtains block out the almost constant sun from waking you up!

Amazing bathroom! Complete with shower necessities and a heated towel rail.

There was also lots of storage spots in the room, and of course a kettle for those late night coffee or tea cravings.

The hotel lobbies were full of decorative wall art like this. Some told fun stories about Iceland which was a personal touch.
